AI Adoption Score vs Google Forms

Many companies start measuring AI adoption with a survey they build themselves: questions drafted with ChatGPT or Gemini, a Google Form sent to everyone, and the answers read in a spreadsheet. It's quick to start and asks whatever you like. AI Adoption Score gives you surveys already built for this, scores every answer into levels for each person and team, sends the reminders and fills in a live report, on a free plan.

The questionsReady-made AI adoption surveys: eight of them, from a 5-minute barriers survey to a 15-minute 360°, one on a published research scale (opens in a new tab)You write them, with 12 question types from multiple choice to rating scales and grids; Gemini can draft a form from a prompt on eligible plans1, 7
ScoringEvery answer scored by fixed rules into levels from L1 to L5, archetypes, and a verdict on what holds people back (opens in a new tab)Points per question in quiz mode; any other scoring you build yourself in Google Sheets2, 3

Where Google Forms is stronger

  • Any question you like. You choose every word and topic, including questions only your company would ask.1
  • Already in your toolbox. It's part of Google Workspace, so there's no new vendor to approve, and people already know how to fill it in.8
  • Your data in your own spreadsheet. Answers go straight to Google Sheets or download as a CSV file.3
  • Gemini on eligible plans. It can draft a form from a prompt and summarize text answers.6, 7

What you'd build yourself

A scoring model. The 360° (opens in a new tab) turns each person's answers into five dimension scores and a level, and rolls them up to teams and the organization. AI Adoption Barriers (opens in a new tab) ranks 18 barriers and says who can fix each one. A form gives you the raw answers; the model is yours to design and maintain.

The report. Team views, trends across rounds and response analytics are ready from the first answer, instead of a spreadsheet someone builds and rebuilds after every round.

The follow-up. Invitations, reminders and who has answered are handled for you, so response rates don't depend on someone chasing people by hand.

Questions that keep up. AI Market Pulse (opens in a new tab) asks about each quarter's new AI developments, so you don't have to rewrite your survey every time the tools change.

Questions

Can't ChatGPT or Gemini write the questions for us?

They can draft questions. What they don't give you is a scoring model and a report that compares teams and rounds. Writing questions is the quick part; turning answers into levels, team views and next steps is the work our surveys already do.

Is AI Adoption Score really free to start?

Yes. Open Access is free: every survey and the full report, in exchange for three things that help us improve the product: a feedback call with our team, anonymized aggregate data shared for research, and a case study. Private Access, a paid plan, keeps everything private. See pricing (opens in a new tab).

Do people need a Google account to answer?

Not for our surveys: people can answer through a link with a shared password, an email invitation, or Google sign-in if you choose it. More in Security and privacy (opens in a new tab).
