Ask AI about your reports

Explain results says what a report shows in plain words, and Chat with report answers your questions about it, from the report's own numbers. Both sit in the ✦ menu of every report in the app.

  • 2ways in, from every report's ✦ menu: Explain results and Chat with report
  • 300AI answers a month for your whole organization on the Company plan
  • 0individual answers, names or emails sent to the AI model
Step 1 of 4Every report has a ✦ menu: Explain results and Chat with report.

How it works

Every report has a ✦ button next to Manage. It opens a card at the bottom right of the page:

  • Explain results writes what the report says: in short, what stands out, what to watch out for and what to do first, under 300 words. The same results are explained once a day, so pressing it again shows the same explanation at once.
  • Chat with report answers what you ask in your own words: which department to start with, what changed since the last round, how to read a chart. It starts with a few suggested questions.

For each question the assistant decides what to read: this report's results, earlier rounds of the same survey, the report's Analytics tab, or the Help Center for how-to questions. The card shows each step as it happens, and the answer appears as it's written.

The card stays while you move between the report's tabs, and the conversation is still there when you close it and open it again. Expand it to read a long answer in the middle of the window, and copy any answer into an email or a document with its formatting.

What it reads

  • The report as you can see it. It reads through the same read-only tools as Connect with AI (MCP) (opens in a new tab), with your access: only reports you can open in the app.
  • Totals, never individual answers. It gets the report's numbers, such as shares and averages, and never anyone's answers, names or emails, even where your report shows them.
  • Your question, the report's name and its totals go to OpenRouter, which runs the AI model. We keep a conversation for a day so a follow-up question is quick, and we record each answer's time and cost, not its words. We don't train AI models on your data. More in Security and privacy (opens in a new tab).

Plans and AI answers

An AI answer is one reply: an Explain results, or an answer in Chat with report. An explanation shown again from the same day doesn't count.

  • Company: 300 a month for your whole organization, and up to 50 a day for each person, so one person can't use up the month.
  • Enterprise: as many as we agree.
  • Team, the free plan: none. Its ✦ menu points to Connect with AI (opens in a new tab) instead, so your own Claude or ChatGPT can read the reports, at no cost to you or us.

Answers don't carry over: a new month's come on the 1st. When few are left, the card says how many; when none are, it says when they come back. Plans are on the pricing page (opens in a new tab).

What it won't do

Read a filtered view. It reads the report as its Insights tab shows it for everyone, not a filter you've set, a team's view or one person's page.

Answer before the first response, on a public link or on a sample report. The ✦ waits for a submitted response, and shows only on reports in the app.

Change anything. It reads; it can't edit a report, launch a survey or email anyone.

Go into Export PDF. The PDF holds the report; copy an answer to share it.

Check its own sums. It quotes the report's numbers, but it writes the answer itself and can get details wrong. When a number matters, open the report.
